Nona Jepun became a nominee –best novel competition, held by DKJ ( Dewan Kesenian Jakarta – Jakarta Arts Council) in 2021. DKJ is a prestigious competition in Indonesia. Every two years they arrange literacy competition such as writing novel, writing poems or writing critics.
Nona Jepun depicted Indonesia in around 1942-1945 during Dutch occupation and Japanese occupation. The friendship of 2 young girls named Ndaru and Mirah became center of characters. Suffering a lot in poverty and oprression during Dutch colonization, made Ndaru and Mirah in Balamoa – Center Java wanted to have a chance of good life. They moved to Banjarmasih in Borneo, when Japanese army was about to run occupation in Indonesia. Ndaru and Mirah were forced to be comfort women, serving Japanese army. Being raped and tortured, almost made Ndaru lost her willingness to live.
Facing day by day in pain, suffering, helplessness ; Ndaru had to find something in her life so she became strong and survive.
The titled of Nona Jepun has several meanings. “Nona” means young girl, “Jepun” means Japan in old Javanese language. So, Nona Jepun has meanings : young girl lived in Japanese era in Indonesia, young girl who served Japanese army
Nona Jepun is now ready in Indonesian Language and English language. Published by IMP (Indiva Mitra Pustaka) an imprint of Indiva Publishing, located in Solo, Central Java.

ノナ・ジェプンは、2021年にDKJ（ジャカルタ芸術評議会）が主催する最優秀小説賞にノミネートされました。DKJはインドネシアで権威のあるコンクールで、2年ごとに小説、詩、批評などの文学コンクールを開催しています。
ノナ・ジェプンは、オランダと日本の拓殖にあった1942年から1945年頃のインドネシアを描いた。物語の中心は、ンダルとミラという2人の少女の友情である。オランダの拓殖で貧困と抑圧に苦しのでンダルとミラは、中部ジャワ島のバラモアでより良い生活を送る機会を求めた。日本軍がインドネシアを拓殖しようとしていた頃、彼女たちはボルネオ島のバンジャルマシに移住した。ンダルとミラは慰安婦として日本軍に仕えることを強いられた。
レイプや拷問を受け、ンダルは生きる気力をほとんど失いかけた。
日々、痛み、苦しみ、心細いに直面しながらも、ンダルは人生に何かを見出すことで強くなり、生き抜かなければなりませんでした。
ノナジェプンの題名に様々な意味があります。「ノナ」はインドネシア語に若い女の子という意味です。「ジェプン」は古いジャワ語に日本という意味です。なぜならノナジェプンの意味は日本の拓殖じだいに住んでいた少女と日本軍に仕えた少女という意味です。
